OUR HISTORY

FROM THE FOUNDER

Allow me to share how it all came about.  In 1995, my son Andrew was born with a rare metabolic disorder.  He was medically fragile and a warrior.  He fought for 1 year and then passed away 2 weeks after his first birthday.  His life and death changed my heart in the most profound way.

Later in 1997, we adopted our daughter Rebecca at birth, she was a fetal alcohol and drug exposed preemie weighing only 2.8 lbs. Caring for her unique needs and witnessing her hit milestones brought joy to my soul. My passion for special children continued to grow.

After years of intervention plans for Rebecca, we began to foster medically fragile children.  Countless and tremendous experiences nurturing these incredible children, helped me determine this field to be my vocation in life.

In 2003, a movement in Advocacy began. I was called upon to help other families like my own.  During which time, ADVOCARE - ADVOCATES WHO CARE was launched. We are known for our commitment to encouraging families, and assisting them in the achievement of their child's greatest potential.  Our satisfaction is in knowing we help these special ones reach for their challenging milestones. As a result, there is less stress on the family.  It’s this standard of practice that has provided the momentum for us to grow into the business we are today.

Unlike other providers, we believe that the family knows their child best.  Absolutely no one knows the child better than the family.  Our job is to  assist the family by working together to create a specific support plan for their impaired child.  The services and guidance we provide, produces optimal results.

We look forward to assisting you and your child and giving you back some of the time and energy you deserve.
